Scholarship Criteria
Thanks to our community’s generous support, we now award over $90,000 in scholarships annually to more than 100 graduating seniors, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $3,000.
A volunteer board of directors comprised of community members, school administration and business leaders determines the activities of ASF and reviews applications for scholarships. ASF requires students:
- be in their senior year at Arrowhead High School
- have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and,
- be accepted into a two or four year college, university or technical college.
Each required portion of the application is carefully reviewed and scholarships are awarded to students who most closely match scholarship criteria. Key qualifications considered include:
- Academic Commitment: Personal growth, dedication, and effort in your coursework
- School Involvement: Active participation in clubs, sports, or school activities
- Community Contributions: Impact made through volunteer work, community service, or employment
- Personal Character: excellent teacher recommendations and student essays
- Leadership: Guiding peers, taking personal responsibility and making choices that positively impact others, the school and the community
An individual donor may request that an applicant possess a specific trait, like community service, participation in multiple sports, enrollment in technical or vocational programs or financial need. In these cases, ASF identifies recipients that meet these specific requests.

“I hope to become a teacher one day and eventually go back to school to become a principal. My senior year I received one of the Arrowhead scholarships and it was great to see that my hard work paid off and other people recognized that too. Thanks Arrowhead Scholarship Fund for allowing me to continue my education!”
